David Brito and Benjamin David from Mrs. Caceres's 5th Grade Class were chosen to participate in the Fairchild Challenge to design a city that would maximize space for growing food. The two students worked very hard coming up with concepts and made several designs before coming up with a finished product. Their vision includes buildings that use planter-balconies to grow fruits and vegetables. Spaces between buildings are also utilized for growing vine vegetables and fruits. On the rooftops are wind and solar generators that power the irrigation and lighting systems. Among the buildings are beehives that will pollinate the plants as well as produce honey. Congratulations on a great design.
