1/17/25- Although November and December were not filled with much news for the art program, January has started out with an explosion of good tidings. Ariana Pupo-Rodriguez, 5th Grade, and Evelyn Margesson, 7th Grade both won 2nd place in their categories in the Baynanza Sticker and Poster Contest. Baynanza is a yearly event that celebrate our beautiful Biscayne Bay. An event will take place in February in which Evelyn and Ariana will be honored and awarded their prizes. Additionally, Evelyn Margesson had her wonderful collage image accepted to the Black History Month Exhibition at the School Board Building located downtown. Congratulations Evelyn, you're really having a great year! Furthermore, 5th Graders and Middle Schoolers worked together to create wonderful banners for the SECME Competition. The banner competition is part of a school wide effort to participate in the District SECME Festival and Olympiad which celebrates Science, Engineering, Chemistry and Mathematics. Mrs. Botana and Mrs. Kramer work very hard to get out school ready for the event. Thank you to Ariana Pupo-Rodriguez, Emely Alfonso, Ariella Puron, Zoe Perez, Luciana Chavez-Torres, Leah Acosta, Leonor Jimenez and Helen Aguilar for their amazing effort in creating the banners. 1/21/25-EvelynMargesson, 7th Grade, is having a great January.
